What is WrB?

About the World Regulatory Briefing (WrB) Series

Born out of Clarion’s World Gambling Briefing, and responding to an increasingly fragmented regulatory framework of the gaming industry, WrB is a series of one-day regulatory and business development events taking place in the countries where real change happens, bringing you the key stakeholders from local markets to learn from, and build partnerships with.

The first one of the series took place at the world’s largest exhibition, ICE Totally Gaming, drawing from its 20 000+ visitor base to bring the latest regulatory developments to you with a specific focus on the UK and Ireland. The latest updates were delivered by gaming regulators in attendance at ICE Totally Gaming and the world’s most renowned legal experts forming IAGA and IMGL.

After a highly successful launch at ICE, the WrB series took its second bold step in Frankfurt, Germany and provided 160 delegates with a well-balanced forum by presenting all the key viewpoints on the iGaming regulatory changes in Schleswig-Holstein and the rest of the 15 German States.

The next WrB will be held in Barcelona, Spain and will coincide with the 11th European iGaming Congress &Expo (EiG). Since the issuing of the Spanish iGaming licences on June 1st, under Gaming Law 13/2011, industry regulators, operators and suppliers will reflect on the effectiveness of the new regulation to re-adapt their strategies for a successful operation in this extremely lucrative, however crowded, marketplace. With a regulatory review predicted for December 2012 and the need to ensure a harmonised regulatory approach, this event will bring together key regulators, operators both internationally and locally, and solution providers to explore the iGaming world in Spain, after the first licences have been granted and in operation, and influence possible changes to the future of the regulatory framework.
